Job Shadow in University Administration & Fundraising (Central Georgia)

Georgia College is Georgia's public liberal arts university. With 7,000 students (6,000 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate) Georgia College is the perfect size to challenge students through exemplary teaching and highly intentional engagement. The Georgia College Advancement Unit is responsible for fundraising, alumni efforts, and outreach efforts for the university. In the past five years we have doubled our fundraising success and exponentially expanded our alumni efforts.

The host for this opportunity is Monica Delisa, Vice President of University Advancement, Executive Director of GC&SU Foundation, and a UA alum!

Shadows will follow the Vice President of University Advancement during her day (approximately 7 hours). A typical day will include:
  • Meeting with the president and cabinet
  • Meeting with donors to discuss potential gifts
  • Meeting with faculty to discuss programming and activities
  • Team building activities

Those who may benefit most from this shadow are students interested in exploring careers in higher education, in the non-profit field, or in administration. Lunch will be provided. The shadow will be available any of the following days
  • Monday, March 9th
  • Tuesday, March 10th
  • Wednesday, March 11th
  • Thursday, March 12th
  • Friday, March 13th

This career exploration/professional development opportunity is part of the University of Arizona Job Shadow Program (JSP). The JSP offers one-of-a-kind, low-stakes, high-value experiences for current Wildcats to gain firsthand exposure to careers, fields, and workplaces, and to interact closely with actual professionals and employers. Unless otherwise noted, JSP shadows last ONE DAY (4-8 hours) and will take place during Spring Break, March 9-13, 2020.
