Job Shadow in High School Education (Las Vegas, NV)

Established in 1956, the Clark County School District (CCSD) is the number one choice for families and students. We educate 75 percent of the students in Nevada, and work closely with community partners and business leaders to educate the workers needed to strengthen our economy. By offering a variety of nationally recognized programs-- including Magnet Schools, Career and Technical Academies, and Advanced Placement programs-- plus online secondary school and open enrollment, we offer the best choices to meet individual student needs.

The host for this shadow is Danielle Jennings, Russian and History Teacher and a UA Alum!

During the shadow, students have the opportunity to observe instruction in 3 subject areas: Russian I and II, AP World History, and AP Human Geography, each taught within an 80 minute block schedule.

Students who might benefit from this shadow are those interested in education. Students should bring their own lunch. This shadow will be available for the following dates:
  • Monday, March 9
  • Tuesday, March 10
  • Friday, March 13

This career exploration/professional development opportunity is part of the University of Arizona Job Shadow Program (JSP). The JSP offers one-of-a-kind, low-stakes, high-value experiences for current Wildcats to gain firsthand exposure to careers, fields, and workplaces, and to interact closely with actual professionals and employers. Unless otherwise noted, JSP shadows last ONE DAY (4-8 hours) and will take place during Spring Break, March 9-13, 2020. This is not an employment opportunity and future employment with the organization is not associated with this program. You may apply to no more than 5 JSP opportunities per session, and if accepted, you must attend a JSP orientation before receiving the contact information for your host and to remain eligible to fulfill your shadow.
