Job Shadow in Laser Engineering (Tucson, AZ)

Lasertel is a vertically-integrated, US manufacturer of high-power semiconductor laser components and systems and a leading custom photon partner for engineers. Lasertel's expertise in a broad range of engineering disciplines supports system integration from design through high volume production to meet performance, design, environmental, and cost demands.

The Host for this opportunity is Brian Caliva, the Director of Engineering!

During the shadow, students will follow the expected agenda:
9:00 – Staff Introductions, Lasertel Overview
10:00 – Discipline presentations (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Industrial, Chemical, Test, Device Design)
11:30 – Lunch with staff
12:30 – Facility (including clean room) tour
2:00 – Hands on experience with engineer in laboratory or office environment
3:30 – Q&A, closing, feedback

Students who may benefit from this shadow are those in electrical/civil/mechanical engineering, optical sciences, or physics. This shadow is only available on Friday, January 10th.

This is part of the UA Job Shadow Program (JSP). The JSP is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to a career field and be mentored by actual professionals.
