Job Shadow in NICU Nursing (Laguna Hills, CA)

The host for this opportunity is Amy Berecz-Ortega, a Clinical Supervisor at the Saddleback Medical Center!
The length of time the student would shadow is 8 hours. The student will sample a typical day in the life of an RN in a level 3 NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). The shadow will include care of an infant in the NICU, attending normal and high-risk deliveries which would include witnessing a delivery, and potentially shadowing a labor patient. The host's focus is the sick infant since she is a NICU nurse but also participates in deliveries and care of well and seriously ill infants within her unit.
This shadow would be ideal for a candidate entertaining the idea of becoming a postpartum, NICU, or nursery nurse.
This opportunity is only available on January 10, 13, or 14th. Students should bring their own lunch.
