JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quality Leadership Development Program (QLDP) is an entry-level leadership development program intended to attract high potential engineers to the quality organization at BAE Systems. The QLDP is a three-year rotational program designed to provide participants with an exclusive set of professional experience and leadership opportunities.

QLDP participants are afforded the opportunity to diversify their professional portfolio by participating in three unique rotational assignments, each twelve months in duration, and at various BAE Systems locations. These challenging rotations rely heavily upon a technical/engineering background to ensure conformance to customer specifications, analyze product performance characteristics, execute lean and six sigma principles to optimize manufacturing processes and integrate quality assurance at all stages of the product life-cycle.

In support of these roles, participates are equipped with monthly technical and leadership skills trainings, and attend an annual weeklong Leadership Development Conference (LDC). During LDC, participants from all branches of the Leadership Development Program across all national BAE Systems’ sites congregate in one location to hone their leadership skills in a team environment, while broadening their professional network and interfacing with executive leaders of the company.
As a part of the QLDP, participants are expected to obtain an advanced degree in a technical field and are eligible for BAE Systems’ competitive tuition assistance program. Participants are expected to pursue an internally sponsored Green Belt project and receive certification.

Each QLDP participant is paired with a mentor from the quality organization to further promote growth and performance excellence.

The QLDP aims to pair talented and ambitious engineering college graduates to model managers with proven track records in order to cultivate a pipeline of future leaders for BAE Systems. Upon program completion, the participant will be well qualified and prepared to excel within the quality organization and beyond.
