Job Shadow in Human Resources / Federal Government (Phoenix)
The Bankruptcy Court is part of the judicial branch of the federal government. Bankruptcy courts were established to help individuals and businesses who owe more than they can pay to their creditors. Bankruptcy laws allows them to get a fresh start by liquidating their assets to pay their debts, or by creating a payment plan.
The host for this opportunity is the Human Resources Specialist, Valerie Duckett, a 1998 University of Arizona graduate!
This job shadow experience will give you a glimpse of Human Resources, as well as Bankruptcy Operations.
In this experience, you will:
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. - Arrive, meet staff, go over agenda for the day
9:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Tour the Operations department, meet with staff
10:00 - 12:00 p.m. - Tour the courtroom, meet with staff, observe a Bankruptcy hearing
12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Lunch
1:00 - 2:00 p.m. - Tour Self Help center
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Discuss HR role at the Bankruptcy court
3:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Tour other unit, such as IT, Facilities, Finance etc.
4:00 - 4:30 p.m. - Wrap-up for the day
This opportunity will be especially beneficial for students interest in Business Management, Law, and Court Administration.
This shadow is available during Spring Break.
