Job Shadow in Public Administration (Phoenix, AZ)

The COO oversees operations for the State which employees 35,000 people (not including universities) with a budget of 40+ Billion. As a State we do everything from building highways to operating prisons to processing tax returns to ensuring the safety of our most vulnerable (children and the elderly).

The host of this job shadow is Deputy COO, Sarah Pirzada.

The agenda for this shadow is as followed:
  •    Morning: Coffee and tour of State Capitol 
  •    Attend meeting related to significant Statewide project (Homelessness Reduction, etc.)
  •    Lunch with Operations team 
  •    Afternoon visit various agencies and leaders see how they use data to drive decision-making
    
 If students have a specific area of interest we will tailor the trip to their interests

This opportunity will be available on March 5th.

Students that will benefit the most from this shadow will be students interested in Public Administration, Public Service, Political Science, Sociology, and Business.

This is part of the UA Job Shadow Program (JSP). The JSP is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to a career field and be mentored by actual professionals.
