Job Shadow in Public Relations (Los Angeles)

Weissman/Markovitz Communications is a boutique PR and marketing firm that focuses on traditional PR in the entertainment industry. as well as awards campaigns for networks such as Prime Video, FX, and Food Network. Our clients also include the Art Directors Guild, the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild, International Cinematographer's Guild, and many more.

Paige, the host for this opportunity, is a 2014 UA alum.

Our job shadow program is 4 hours long. Students will work closely with Paige and Miya who are in charge of submitting television programs on behalf of our clients (Prime Video and FX) to various awards shows such as the Emmys, PGA Awards, SAG Awards, and many more.

The student will be shadowing Paige on an everyday day, helping with submissions and learning about the business. They will also have a chance to speak with people who work in our PR department and learn about their jobs as well. 

During this job shadow, you might:
  • participate in listening to conference calls with our clients,
  • have discussions with our company President and Vice President about the role of publicity in the entertainment industry,
  • learning step by step the general awards submission process
  • depending on the season, students may also be able to attend an industry screening of a television program.

This opportunity is available March 4th-6th

Students who would benefit are those in film and television, public relations, marketing, journalism, and business.
