The AXA Advisors Externship Program is an educational program designed to give students the exposure to the financial planning industry; ultimately allowing them to decide if this is the career they would like to pursue upon graduation. You will receive an inside look into this career and career planning advice from our management team and alumni.
This is a unique program for college students conveniently located on campus, and is an additional program you can add to your resume! We have been hosting this program for the past 6 years at the local universities (U of A, ASU, NAU, and UNLV) and it is a great way for students who want an education and quick way to boost their resume, while learning about new career and internship opportunities upon completion of the program.
We educate students on the following topics:
- Tips for success (networking, sales, marketing, building a client base, getting started in a finance career)
- Finance Industry Overview
- Day in the life of a financial advisor (is this career right for you?)
- Real- life observations as to how our advisors plan for their clients
- Reviewing case studies that will show behind the scenes work of a financial advisor within our firm
- Analytical overview of a financial plan and resources used by our financial advisors
Program Details:
- The Externship program differs from a traditional internship in that it is a shorter time commitment. You will be invited to attend 3 educational sessions (each 2 hours in the evening on campus) in either the fall or spring semesters.
- The first two events will be immersive workshops with AXA Management team and recent alumni, that will give you some insight into how we function as Financial Professionals (day in the life of a financial advisor, tips for career success, case studies, etc.). The third event will be a celebratory dinner/ networking event in your honor with our VP panel and alumni to wrap up the program.
- The Externship gives you an insight into the daily activities of our financial professionals as well as real-life observations on how we plan for our clients. It is a great way for you to see what it is like to work as a financial professional in a profession where you can really impact others.
- It can serve as a door-opener to a position with our firm upon your graduation. You will be Career-Ready for AXA Advisors upon graduation, if you should choose this path. This is the stepping stone to internship and full time opportunities.
