Job Shadow in Civil/Mechanical/Geotechnical Engineering in Green Valley, AZ

This job shadow opportunity is available on March 6th or 7th, 2018, from 6:45am - 3:30pm, and is located at the Sierrita Mine in Green Valley, Arizona.  Experience a day in the life of a Geotechnical Engineer at our Sierrita Mine in Green Valley, AZ – just 40 minutes south of Tucson. Throughout the day you will get to explore all aspects of the mine operation – including the pit, crusher, concentrator, hydromet, and tailings. The mentor is a geotechnical engineer whose primary focus is tailings management. As a result, you will get the opportunity to attend safety and project meetings, and accompany the tailings engineer on field visits to inspect tailings operations and ongoing projects at the tailings dam.
6:45 a.m.: Meet at the front gate to view a hazard recognition video and complete safety training
7:30 a.m.: Morning call
8:00 a.m.: Tour (Mine, Crusher, Concentrator, and Hydromet)
11:00 a.m.: Lunch Break
12:00 p.m.: Shadow the tailings engineer and mentor (Tailings dam inspection, meetings, operator interactions, project field visits)
3:00 p.m.: Closeout
3:30 p.m.: End of visit

Guidelines: You will be required to watch a hazard recognition video. It is important to be at the front gate by 6:45 a.m. to adhere to the agenda.
Dress Code: Long sleeved shirt, jeans, and closed toed shoes (preferably steel-toed boots)
