Job Shadow in Construction Management / Estimating in Burbank, CA

Esplanade Builders, Inc. is a LA / OC based company, which was established since 2003, located in Torrance and Newport Beach, California. We carry a $10,000,000 General Liability Insurance policy, Workman’s Compensation Policy and are fully bonded as required by the State of California and our clients. Esplanade Builders, Inc. carries a B, C9, C17, C23, C33 license and provides in-house trade services. We offer our clients turn-key construction projects, ranging from simple paint and carpet for lease renewals; to brand new corporate facilities, medical and veterinary offices, industrial improvements and/or retail developments.

      
Your job shadowing at Esplanade can be 1 or more days during March 5-8, and you will observe and participate in the general workings of a bustling construction company. This opportunity will provide a look into the 4 basic elements of a commercial construction company. Esplanade will provide lunch all days. 

1: Sales/ Estimating

2: Accounting/Office management

3: Project Management / Scheduling

4: Field supervision / Site Management

Sample schedule:
  • 9am: Report To Esplanade Office
  • 9:00 -10:00 AM- Introduction to office team.
Morning:
  • Shadow estimating department head, 
  • accounting department head, 
  • field superintendent, and/or 
  • project management department head
Lunch provided by Esplanade

Afternoon:
  • Shadow sales/marketing department head  
The student we feel who would benefit the most from this experience is one who intends to pursue a career in construction management or construction-based accounting. Students from all majors are invited.

This is part of the UA Job Shadow Program (JSP). The JSP is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to a career field and be mentored by actual professionals. Unless otherwise noted, the experience is one day long and will take place sometime during Spring Break, March 5-9.
