Job Shadow in Government Relations in Washington DC

This opportunity is with the Federal Relations team within the University of Arizona’s Government and Community Relations Department in Arlington, Virginia. 

The primary role of Federal Relations (http://universitysecretary.arizona.edu/federal-relations) is to maintain the important relationship between the University of Arizona and each member of the Arizona congressional delegation.

The participant will have the chance to shadow a member of our Federal Relations team as they go about their work on and around Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. This may include: 

  • Meeting with congressional offices and executive agencies
  • Observing as our Federal Relations team member advocates on behalf of the University on various legislative measures
This is part of the UA Job Shadow Program (JSP). The JSP is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to a career field and be mentored by actual professionals. Unless otherwise noted, the experience is one day long and will take place sometime during Spring Break, March 5-9.
